A friendly and lively address offering generous dishes as well as Basque songs and music.
This former horse relay (in the 19th century), which became a wine storehouse (Xaia in Basque) in 1920, located a few dozen metres from the Spanish border, is a mythical and unmissable place in the area. Bar, brasserie, cider house, inn and... singing room! Here, traditions are as hard as the thickness of the walls and carefully preserved thanks to Beñat, the true guardian of Basque culture. In fact, the place is known by everyone, locals, Spaniards and locals from all over the world... Bretons because we share the same values of exchange and conviviality. So much so that in other times, smugglers and customs officers used to play cards together. We also eat at these large tables where, often, each meal ends with Basque songs and music because our host is also a renowned accordionist. Tapas, cod tortilla, chilli pepper tortilla, chorizo, axoa, memorable prime rib cooked over a wood fire in a masterful fireplace. The dishes are as generous as the boss who will serve you the pitchers of cider, drawn on the spot
