FEODAL CASTLE OF MONTGUYON
Medieval castle of the XIIIth century, preserving its keep and main building, backdrop of the Festival of popular music and dance
Now in ruins, this medieval monument stands out for its keep and the main building still proudly standing. Yet the château has a long history, dating back to the 13th century. It passed through the hands of the de La Rochefoucauld and de Rohan families, and was also the residence of Louis XIII. Work on the château has uncovered a number of remains, including the moat and the base of the walls. The château now serves as the backdrop for the Festival de musiques et danses populaires.
