THE CASTLE OF NEUVICQ
Castle located on the borders of the Charente and Saintonge regions, standing on a limestone spur at Neuvicq-le-Château
Situated on the borders of the Charente and Saintonge, in the heart of the Fins Bois of the Cognac region, this castle is a jewel of the Renaissance. Imposing, proudly erected on a limestone spur, it dominates the surrounding countryside by more than 30 metres. Surmounted by slate with its crenellated towers, machicolations and mullioned windows, the monument welcomes the public from June and throughout the season. With its new halls, one of which is dedicated to the feudal clods, of which you will discover a giant model, it is reborn every summer, welcoming visitors and exhibitions. You will have plenty of time to stroll along the surrounding paths and discover the former castle of the Marquis de Montespan.
