PANLOY CASTLE
Old Renaissance style castle, an example of Louis XV architecture, woodwork and tapestries from Beauvais inside
Situated in the pretty commune of Port-d'Envaux, on the banks of the Charente river, this former Renaissance château has preserved two pavilions between which the main building was erected, and is a fine example of Louis XV architecture. Designed by Baron de Saint-Dizant, the château is now owned by his descendants. Inside, you'll admire the woodwork in the dining room, the Beauvais tapestries and the hunting gallery. The château can be visited with a guide, but also on the play trail, ideal for children, or during one of the organized events.
