This lagoon treatment plant, the largest of its kind in Europe, provides environmentally-friendly treatment of Rochefort's wastewater. Close to the river, the treatment center is at the heart of a nature park, and is an example of high-performance environmental management. Managed by the town and the LPO (Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux, based in Rochefort) and located in the heart of the peri-urban marshes, the plant is open to the general public. Accompanied by a guide, you'll have plenty of time to understand how the site works, while catching a glimpse of waterfowl.
