NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE NAVY OF ROCHEFORT
Museum retracing the era of squadron commanders, with a collection of model ships including the Dauphin Royal
The Musée de la Marine is housed in the Hôtel de Cheusses, built in the early 17th century for the Seigneur de Rochefort, Adrien de Lozeré, Henri IV's first valet de chambre. After the creation of the city's arsenal, the building was enlarged to become the residence of the Commandants de la Marine in 1690, and finally the Commissariat de la Marine. The museum offers a wide range of services, including folding booster seats, baby carriers and audioguides, so you can enjoy the collections to the full.
