Nestled in an unspoilt natural setting, Fontdouce Abbey proudly boasts 900 years of history. Founded in 1111 by the Benedictines, the abbey enjoyed a period of prosperity before the Wars of Religion led to its decline. Its rebirth began in 1970, the date chosen by the owners to launch a vast restoration program. Listed as a historic monument, the Abbey hosts a wide range of events, including music festivals, exhibitions and concerts, and is the ideal venue for a birthday party or wedding.
