Seafood cuisine based on fresh products in a restaurant with terrace located a few steps from the port of Ile de Ré.

Nestled in an alleyway just a stone's throw from the port, this restaurant offers a quiet setting for a seafood lunch. Gilles Barre showcases his oceanic cuisine, using fresh, finely-cooked produce. Prices are a little steep, but the fish comes directly from the fishing port. Take a seat on the terrace, sheltered from the wind, to discover starters such as the famous Thai-style red tuna tataki. The rest depends on your tastes. In season, mussels are offered in a variety of recipes: marinière, chorizo, lemon basil, while sea bass is roasted with preserved lemon or citrus fruit. Homemade desserts are delicious, such as roasted flat peaches with dairy caramel. Tip: exhibitions by local artists and concerts are held regularly.

A delightful little nook behind the main harbour, serving accomplished traditional dishes focussing mainly on fish and seafood. The tuna belly entrée was a particular highlight. We certainly left plein à ras bord!

Une excellente cuisine maison à base de produits frais exceptionnels ; bravo au chef! J’ai également adoré le cadre et la déco ; en été une terrasse ombragée très appréciable. Ce restaurant est un peu dissimulé mais tout près du port. A ne pas manquer !
