What a surprising place! If you arrive in Saint-Martin and feel like strolling through the park, gazing out over the ocean, the Petit Futé urges you to make your way up to the church. Take a deep breath: 117 steps await you! The staircase is narrow, but the climb isn't difficult. Once you're near the bells, you'll enjoy an incredible view of the island's historic capital. In summer, the tour lasts until nightfall!

superbe vue
montée étroite mais pas très longue avec passage intéressant au plus près des cloches (attention aux oreilles quand elles sonnent !) qui permet l'accès à une plateforme qui surplombe une bonne partie de l'ïle.

superbe panorama du haut de ce clocher, sur la ville fortifiée et l'île de Ré. Même s'il ne reste plus grand chose du bâtiment d'origine, puisque l'église a été détruite plusieurs fois au cours de l'histoire, elle n'en possède néanmoins beaucoup de charme avec son horloge et ses cloches.

L'accessibilité au sommet est aisée et le coût dérisoire.

Tarif plutôt attractif (2euro) pour une visite jusqu'au toit du clocher avec à l'arrivée une vue panoramique épatante sur 360° surtout par beau temps ! Vous verrez les cloches lors de votre ascension, elles sont fonctionnelles. Attention l'accès est étroit et exigu. Il y a 80 marches a monter escalier raide en colimaçon. Le panorama est superbe du phare des baleines jusqu'au pont de Ré, Belle vue sur les toits de St Martin et de la côte Vendéenne au loin.

J'y suis monté avec mon petit fils de 4 ans. Il a été impressionné par les cloches qui ont sonné lorsque on est passé à proximité. Du haut du clocher nous avons une superbe vue sur l'ile de Ré et St Martin en particulier et ses remparts.
