This 19th century chapel was built in response to a wish. Indeed, after the phylloxera crisis around 1800, which caused the destruction of many hectares of vineyards, then the scourge of cholera (the commune of Saint-Sauveur was the most affected commune in the region), the population made a wish: to build a chapel to thank God for the cessation of these scourges. In 1850, promised thing due thing. The chapel was completed in 1854 and Monsignor Villecours, Bishop of La Rochelle, came to bless it. Inside you will find a statue of Our Lady of Africa.
