CLIFFS AND SEMI-TROGLODYTE HOUSES
This town of character is one of the most picturesque in the Saintonge Romane region
This village of stone and water is located in the heart of the Saintonge Dorée region. Nestled in a meander of the Charente, it owes its expansion to the river trade. In the 18th century, numerous "gabarres" (barges) plied the river, transporting cut stone, wine... This picturesque town is also famous for its semi-troglodyte houses. After climbing the steep streets behind the quays, you'll come across the church with its bell tower and the market square.

Nous avons découvert ses jolies maisons et cette falaise époustouflante a bord du bateau "le Palissy" en naviguant sur la Charente, jolie rivière. A voir et a revoir
