THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum created in 1815, in a pleasant location just a stone's throw from the Charente river.
This museum, created in 1815 on the initiative of Baron de Crazannes, enjoys a pleasant location, a stone's throw from the river and close to the tourist office. In the former municipal abattoir building, visitors can discover the ancient city of Saintes through remarkable lapidary series (columns, bas-reliefs, etc.) from public and funerary architecture. You'll also find an interactive kiosk, as well as objects used in everyday life to give you a better understanding of the ancient city.
