THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum created in 1815, in a pleasant location just a stone's throw from the Charente river.
This museum, created in 1815 on the initiative of Baron de Crazannes, enjoys a very pleasant location, close to the river Charente and a stone's throw from the public garden. Visitors can discover the ancient city of Saintes through a series of remarkable lapidary pieces (columns, bas-reliefs, etc.) from public and funerary architecture. You'll also find an interactive kiosk, as well as objects used in everyday life to give you a better understanding of the ancient city. Allow around 30 minutes for your visit.
