This restaurant is located on the small port of Soubise: ideal in summer for lunch or dinner on the terrace overlooking the Charente river. Inside, its large bay windows also offer a beautiful view of the river and the marshes. The welcome is pleasant, and the menu highlights the products of the region. In the summer, the dishes of the sea are given pride of place: oysters, fish soup, fried smelt served with its aïoli, or red mullet fillets. If you prefer mussels and chips, you can choose from a variety of recipes: marinière, curry, Roquefort or Poitou (goat's cheese and bacon). On the meat side, classic with grilled entrecote or duck breast. The desserts are also simple, from Jonchée (a regional fromage frais made from curdled milk) to profiteroles, including sugar or chocolate pancakes. Favouring home-made products, the kitchen offers a reduced menu. Out of season, the lunch buffet offers traditional dishes such as polenta veal stir-fry or lamb's mouse.
