MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY AND FISHING
Museum presenting a rich collection allowing to know better the history of the city of Talmont and the local fishing.
This museum, housed in the former school, aims to explain the history of the "walled city": its creation by the English in 1284, and its destruction by the Spanish in 1652. It's also an opportunity to discover that Talmont could have become an American port in 1917! You'll also discover the tools used for fishing, including a skiff used to catch meagre fish. A game booklet is available for children to playfully explore the site.
