LES HAUTS DE TALMONT
An area entirely dedicated to the "Hauts de Talmont" vineyard located on the cliff on the edge of the estuary, facing the city. Be curious and push the door. The shop, with its very designer concept, plays on the light with a wall of bottles lit by neon lights. It is the temple of Colombard, this old and rare grape variety native to Charente. The white Haut Talmont seduces with its grapefruit nose as Bernard Pivot pointed out. Fruity on the palate, its expression is clear and slightly acidic. This wine very quickly seduced wine lovers, as did the rosé Merlot grape variety with its delicate, yet very present, nose of small red fruits. These wines are best enjoyed young, but develop their full aromas after a few months of ageing. The Hauts de Talmont also produce liqueur wines such as the "C" and "M". Colombard goes perfectly with seafood, especially fish caught in the estuary. It is to be served chilled, but not chilled.
