ÉGLISE SAINT-LÉGER
Romanesque church with a typical Auvergne interior, such as the semi-circular aisles in Arrones.
The Romanesque church of Saint-Léger d'Arronnes was founded in the 11th century. Like many churches in the department, it depended on the abbey of Cluny (the Cluniac monks were present for seven centuries in Arronnes). The granite of the Bourbonnaise Mountain was mainly used to build the monument. Inside, we find typical Auvergne features such as the half-barrel aisles. Three wooden statues are to be discovered: Saint Leger, Saint Peter with a cock and the Virgin and Child. A small medieval garden surrounds the building.
