This superb windmill is the only working one in southern Deux-Sèvres
This superb 17th-century windmill is the only working one in the southern Deux-Sèvres region. Its last miller died in 1970, and it was bought by the commune, which carried out a major renovation operation, restoring it to its former majesty, with its removable wooden slatted roof and surprising milling mechanism. It's now the place to celebrate July 14th, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) and even the "Moulins Spéciales" days in June! You'll notice its centuries-old oak and lime trees, 25 m high, which have been awarded the "Ensemble arboré remarquable" label.
