SAINT MAURICE CHURCH
Set in historic monuments, this th century church still boasts frescoes from the th and th centuries, in the tower beneath the tower. Here you can see web of foliage, medallions decorated with fleur de lys and strangely, we also see tulips and Woodcock inspired by Flemish inspiration in our regions. Sculpted ornamentation leaves room for local mythology, including the Fée fairy (half woman, Mi snake) and the knight who terrassa the dragon dragon. Dedicated to Saint Maurice, a martyr saint from Thebes and often named Maurice d'Agaune, a statue represents it with its classical attributes: the costume of Roman legionnaire, a lance replaces the sword but missing the palme and Roman vexillum. This impressive statue dates back to the th century.
