This exceptional 17th-century abbey, whose appearance around a bend in the road is breathtaking, has over 1,000 years of history to share with you. From the first miracles attested in the 11th century, to the almost total destruction of the edifice in 1568 during the Wars of Religion, only to be reborn during the Counter-Reformation, more dazzling than ever, in the purest Baroque style of François Le Duc: don't miss the Celles-sur-Belle saga! Note that access to the gardens is free, a veritable Eldorado for nature lovers and idlers.
