NOTRE-DAME CHURCH
This church boasts a fine series of delicately crafted Romanesque and Gothic capitals
Erected at the end of the 11th century, Notre-Dame-de-Champdeniers stands out in many respects. You can admire a beautiful series of delicately worked Romanesque to Gothic capitals, including several rare historiated specimens, vestiges of its original decoration (as well as the crypt). You can see, inserted in the vault of the transept crossing, several acoustic pots. The church is also flanked by a polygonal tower (16th century), probably of Limousin influence. In the 19th century, its bell tower was struck by lightning and disappeared.
