4,775 ha mainly populated by beech trees and magnificent oaks, such as the Emperor (250 years old, 27 m) and Papinot. Classified Natura 2000 and ZNIEF of great ecological interest, the forest of Chizé integrates an integral biological reserve of 2 600 ha in place of the former US military camp closed in 1967. Scientific, therefore, the site is also touristy, as it is crossed by the GR36 (Ouistreham-Bourg-Madame).
