Covered market, built with Baltard-style halls, today known as the Halle aux étoffes.
The old halles seigneuriales, acquired by the municipality in 1821, were demolished to make way for a neo-classical stone building to house the butchers. In 1888, the commercial future of Coulonges was in jeopardy: new, vast Baltard-style halles were erected. Now known as the "Halle aux étoffes", the building was restored in 2014 and 2018. This type of walled market with glass roofs enclosed in a metal frame and a skylight roof is quite rare in Deux-Sèvres.
