In the valley of Saint-Maixent lies this water mouth bordered by a lush green, the well of Hell, which is both a resting place filled with a tenacious legend. According to the founders of this site, a brave farmer who wanted to take his animals into a freshly-broken prairie, which required to cross the river, was the victim of his haste and slid with his entire herd into the tortuous waters. Born the well of hell, because, important detail, the brave peasant was taken on a Sunday, day dedicated to the Lord. The years pass, the legend remains and above all the beauty of this site, the calm created by the slightly ribbed landscape, a rarity in the department, and the aquatic movements that rhythm a beautiful stroll marked by hiking paths. This area is of particular environmental interest because it houses rare species. Recently refurbished, this beautiful hiking and hiking area is now equipped with picnic areas and a shelter for up to people.
