A unique site featuring 39 specimens of granite rock engraved with human, animal and geometric figures in Mauléon.
Discovered in 1876 by a hunter, the site has yet to reveal its secrets. This unique site comprises 39 granite boulders engraved with human, animal and geometric figures. Although their dating is unknown, we do know that these lapidary inscriptions were made using metal tools. Some attribute them to La Tène (450-100 BC), others to a Middle Eastern barbarian colony (300 AD). Cyclists: a 25 km loop (1h30, easy) takes you there by bike: yellow markings, departure from the Sainte-Anne sports complex.
