The oldest visitable silver mines in the world, exploited from the 7th to the 10th century. You explore the depths of the mining network (350 m of the 30 km of galleries uncovered) in search of a vein of galena, discover the techniques of metallurgy and coinage in use at the time. Two fascinating 3D films tell you all about it! The museum has its own Carolingian medicinal garden as well as an experimental archaeological platform for the arts of fire (CNRS agreement).
