NOTRE-DAME CHURCH
Notre-Dame de Niort, typical of the flamboyant gothic style, is the highest monument of the Deux-Sèvres
One of Mélusine's masterpieces, who, surprised in the middle of her work, forgot to lay the last stone. Typical of the flamboyant gothic style, flanked by its 75 m high spire, Notre-Dame de Niort is the highest monument of the Deux-Sèvres. It houses several interesting elements: the marble tombs of the Baudéan-Parabère family (17th century), the copper epitaph of Françoise Tiraqueau (17th century), two paintings by Lattainville (18th century) as well as a descent from the cross by Bernard d'Agesci (1810). The neo-Gothic pulpit and the Way of the Cross are of remarkable workmanship.
