A long sea snake of niortais urbanism, the Place of the Breach fully regained its nobility in 2013. It has returned to the central point of the city's life. A fair return of things for the one that was the heart of the city for many centuries. As a result of fairs, rallies and demonstrations, the Brèche had also succumbed to car rule. Becoming a vast and charming parking lot, the place had lost all its attraction… except for motorists! In January 2006, the first rounds of pelle launched the vast shipyard expected. Work that the Niortais have been desperate to see one day end. The facilities of a cinema and an underground car park were far from returning to the morale of the city centre. Because it had to wait again. In spring 2013, the promised green lung took shape. Yolk! Trees, lawns, children's games and water mirror have become realities. For the delight of the Niortais happy to take possession of this former urban verrue. The bottom part of the square is now a huge playground, roof. End of work! Place for idleness and games.
