PORT BOINOT
Port Boinot, a landscaped area marking the entrance to the Poitevin Regional Park.
Niort's industrial wasteland on the banks of the Sèvre River has been given a new lease of life, as a landscaped area marking the entrance to the PNR du marais Poitevin. Walkways, gardens and botanical ponds lead you to the former chamois sheds, home to Magic Flonflon, a cosy and festive guinguette. The Niort-Marais Poitevin tourist office is housed in the former drying shed, as is a permanent exhibition devoted to the region's rich heritage. The landing stage at the nearby cale du port, on the way to Marans via the Marais.
