The collegiate church of Oiron was founded in 1518 by Artus Gouffier, tutor to François I. With a dean, 7 canons and altar boys, it served as a chapel to the castle. The building combines several styles: a Gothic nave with 3 bays decorated with a sumptuous Renaissance décor.
