The abbey church is the last witness to the grandiose ensemble that was the most important abbey in Poitou
A long ship anchored in the countryside overlooking the Dive valley... The Romanesque abbey church of exceptional dimensions was founded in the 4th century and rebuilt in the 11th and 12th centuries. It is the last witness of the grandiose ensemble that was the most important abbey in Poitou. Its rich facade, its Plantagenet vaults and its gothic cloister attract countless visitors. You can discover the garden of the presbytery and the contents of its rare chapel during the JEP.
