BILLAUD GRAINS
Billaud Grains has been producing and marketing adapted pet food under the Pictou brand for nearly 30 years. Its "birds of nature" range obtained the Origine France Garantie certification in 2013.
History. The company was founded in 1989 by Paul Billaud and his sons as part of their farming business. Since then, it has marketed its own harvests in various forms of packaging, initially intended for backyard animals.
In the 2000s, following the development of its activity, a technological factory was built with thirty suction points on the seed path to obtain a quality product, in addition to cleaning at reception and bagging. It was then extended with the construction of a specific building for the manufacture of fat balls. Finally, a new bagging line, a new fat ball production line and a new mixer have been added to increase manufacturing productivity in order to meet the development of the "Birds of the Sky" market. In 2017, the company specialising in backyard feeding was acquired by Neodis.
The products. Sachets of seed balls for birds of nature, mixtures for exotic birds and canaries, seeds, hay and wood chips for rodents, wheat, maize and mixture for backyard birds, granules for rabbits, cat litter.
Employment. About twenty employees for a turnover of 10 million euros.
