CASTLE AND GARDEN OF THE SAYETTE
15th century castle, restored after the Wars of Religion, with a neo-Gothic chapel, a park with 4 Renaissance gardens
Magnificent 15th century fortified house, this castle has been a family property for seven centuries despite the Wars of Religion and revolutions. The building was restored in the 17th century, because it was damaged during the Wars of Religion, the original building is perfectly preserved with its dwelling and its two towers. It was later enlarged and refurbished - a neo-gothic chapel was added to the building. In the chapel there are beautiful stained glass windows. The park is made up of four gardens of Renaissance origin: a courtyard garden, a classical garden (adorned in the 17th century with gates and sundials), a vast bower and a vegetable garden where one can admire a watering trough, a particularity of the place.
