BIBLIOTHÈQUE POPULAIRE ERNEST PÉROCHON
A remarkable library, it was the smallest in France, an address to visit in Vouillé.
The size of a bus shelter, it was the smallest library in France and contained no less than 2,200 volumes, now integrated into the Vouillé media library. It was located in a place called La Rivière, not far from the old Protestant temple and the former school. Its construction was encouraged by Paul Bert, Minister of Public Education. It is named after the first Prix Goncourt of the Deux-Sévrien region (1920), a former teacher from Vouillé, who donated numerous works.
