ST. PETER'S CHAPEL
Renovated 11th-centurychapel with new quarter-circle choir, hosts exhibitions.
This chapel was built on the edge of the cliff, probably in the 11th century, between the old motte castrale and the castle. Unfortunately, in the Middle Ages, the collapse of part of the rock led to the collapse of the choir. This explains the surprising reconstructions: a new choir in a quarter circle to follow the edge of the cliff and the slight asymmetry of the building. It culminates on a promontory that offers a superb panorama of the lower town. Today, the Saint-Pierre chapel hosts exhibitions and is open during heritage days.
