STAR ABBEY
The Cistercian abbey of Etoile with a small chapel in Archigny, presents an exhibition in the mill
Founded in 1124 by Isembaud de l'Etoile, the Cistercian abbey of l'Etoile joined the Cîteaux order in 1149. It was prosperous in the 13th century, but the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion left it in ruins. It was sold as a state property and became a farm in 1792. You can admire its vaults, its sculptures, its nave and its impressive chapter house... Enjoy also a moment of relaxation and discovery around the outbuildings and the small chapel. There is an exhibition in the mill.
