HÔTEL-RESTAURANT LA CHATELLENIE
A charming star hotel working with local products, carefully selected according to the seasons.
Follow us to Availles-Limouzine, not to the castle, but to the former post house which today, run by Emilie and Thomas Fournier, offers us a charming three-star hotel and a much appreciated restaurant. In the kitchen, the chef works with local products that he selects carefully and exclusively according to the seasons. The plates are colourful and elegantly laid out. You can enjoy them in a bright room with tiled floors, stone walls and a fireplace, or in the summer, outside in the pleasant patio. The welcome is friendly and convivial!

The staff were polite, attentive and helpful.
We chose the Market Menu for our meal but we were very disappointed in the main course of Pork Curry which consisted a few large chunks of pork and baby potatoes with their skins on in a bowl of water with the tiniest hint of curry spices. Given the write ups about the chef, as local British residents we had high hopes of eating a good curry made in France but were sorely disappointed.
Everything else we had was very good and presented nicely.
Some of the drinks were also very expensive.
Cost for lunch for 2 - splitting the bill was €73 which is very expensive compared to other restaurants.
Would we eat there again? Possibly. My tip to everyone would be to check what is on the menu for the day you plan to visit as some of the previous weeks menus there was maybe only one or 2 items on the menu each of us could have eaten and we eat out regularly in the various restaurants in the area.
