SAN MARTIN CHURCH
Massive Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Martin, where the school was held and public sales were held
This rather massive Romanesque church, dedicated to Saint Martin, was built in the 11th century. Four pillars still support the bell tower, while the nave and transepts were rebuilt in the 15th century. Sacked by the Ligueurs, the church owes these additions to the lord of Availles, Jacques d'Archiac, whose coat of arms can still be seen on the keystones. Among its many uses, the church was also the site of a school and public sales. The crypt and mission cross on the square are also worth a visit.
