HARAS DU BERLAIS
The Berlais stud farm covers 160 hectares, with sixty mares living in boarding facilities throughout the year. Originally, the stud farm was dedicated to the breeding and production of Poitevin mules. There were about forty mares whose "mules" were sold mainly in Mediterranean countries. Since then, the stud farm has been a thoroughbred breeding operation. The owners, who discovered the world of racing, have produced and accompanied numerous stallions. Thefirst thoroughbred was Galant Vert, owned by Baron de Rothschild
