LA POINTE DE FORCLAN

The Pointe de Forclan, where the Clain and the Vienne rivers meet, is a place of true serenity. Take advantage of the abundant vegetation while walking along the river, during a picnic or during sports activities. This site has been appreciated since the beginning of the 20th century by the people of Châtellerault who came to relax there. On sunny days, they used to board the "Hirondelle", a steamboat that used to travel between Châtellerault and Cenon to join the "guinguettes" (dance halls) that used to liven up the banks of the Vienne river.
