MOULIN DU PUY D'ARDANNE
On the hill, the mill-cavier dominates the Briande plain and offers a beautiful panorama.
Dominating the landscape, this mill-cavier can be seen from the Maison de Pays du Loudunais, on the N147 towards Poitiers. Its origins date back to the 18th century, probably around 1730, and it is one of only six of its kind in the Vienne region. This windmill is typical of the Anjou region. Built on a hillock 124 meters above sea level, it ceased operating in 1890. The cellar still contains the millstones and a sifting room. It still has its wings, although they have curved over time. From the mill, take time to admire the lovely panorama over the valley.
