HALLES DE CHARROUX
Halls built in the 16th century on the site of a former cemetery, classified as a historical monument in 1948 in Charroux
Built in the 16th century on the site of a former cemetery, the Halles de Charroux are among the largest covered market in western France. The site still has its original paving and pillars. You just have to walk around for a few moments to imagine the prosperity of the town in history! A religious center with the Saint-Sauveur abbey and a real commercial crossroads since the Middle Ages and until the 18th century, Charroux hosted many fairs. They were classified as historical monuments in 1948.
