LES CHEMINS DE COULOMBIERS
Several circuits cross the hilly wooded land of the village of Coulombiers. The waiting-au-Loup circuit, marked in yellow, is 6 kilometres. The Etangs circuit - 9,40 km, marked in red - is the same as the previous one to the Richardière. Then you have to turn right on the road to Maupertuis, which means "wrong path". The two ponds on this circuit are the Étang pond and the Grand Etang. Maupertuis is fed only by sky water and underground runoff. Under Napoleon III, there were leeches, used for medicine. The Grand-Etang is populated with cendrés herons, coots, mallard and even cormorants. The third circuit is that of Ponds - balisé in blue - which exists in two versions: the big - 12 km - and the small - 4 km. Fauna and flora are, of course, the two themes of these courses. A perfect opportunity to observe sagittaires or pondweed if you've never seen it. For more information, call the above number - mairie - or 05 49 60 91 06.
