THE TREE OF HENRI IV IN THENET

A majestic lime tree, a royal vestige in Thenet, a peaceful village near Haims.
This very old lime tree is located in a place called Thenet, 4 km from Haims. It was planted during the reign of King Henry IV. Its magnificent long leaves are enthroned royally on the square of the hamlet. At the end of the 16th century, the minister Sully had lime trees planted in front of all the churches. Today, this beautiful shrub is more than 10 m high. A nice shady place to rest after a bike ride. The smell of its flowers in spring is particularly pleasant.
