ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH
Church remarkable by the quality of its sculptures and its ornamentation which is located in Jazeneuil
Another masterpiece of Romanesque art! This building, whose construction began in the middle of the 12th century, is remarkable for the quality of its sculptures and its ornamentation. Long before this church, in the 4th century, three chapels dedicated to the Virgin, Saint Genevieve and Saint Macou were already the object of devotion. It is probable that the name of the church comes from the presence of the spring, recalling the baptism, leading to the fountain of Saint Macou.
