NOTRE DAME CHURCH
Fortified church built between the and centuries on a rocky spur overlooking the Creuse River
Standing on a rocky spur overlooking the Creuse River, Notre-Dame church has a Latin cross plan. Although the church has an 11th-century bell tower, it was fortified during the Hundred Years' War (15th century). The two machicolated towers can be seen from the small square. Inside, the nave is covered by a ribbed vault and ends in a choir with a flat chevet. In the north and south transepts are two altarpieces from the Cistercian abbey of La Merci Dieu. Modern stained glass windows (1948 and 1949) by Jacques Le Chevallier.
