Comprising the Notre-Dame church, a priory for women and one for men, a garden and a dovecote

Robert d'Arbrissel, founder of Fontevraud Abbey, also created a cloister near the Envigne river around 1106-1109. This Romanesque cloister would later give Lencloître its name. This new priory was rich and opulent. It contained numerous works of art. The complex includes the beautiful Notre-Dame church (Romanesque), a priory for women and one for men, and a garden. Don't miss the dovecote separating the men's and women's cloisters. Enjoy the square courtyard, park and rose garden.
