CHÂTEAU DU BOIS GOURMOND
14th century fortified castle, built for military defence purposes, with a square keep with cylindrical and polygonal towers
A stronghold undoubtedly built in the 14th century, then redesigned at the end of the Middle Ages, it is the work of Guillaume Gormond, in charge of maintaining order at a time of wars, on a hill. Of austere aspect, the castle is still closed and powerfully fortified, conceived in a purpose of military defense. Its enclosure resembles a quadrilateral, the square keep is equipped with cylindrical and polygonal towers. The tower has been classified as a Historic Monument since 1929 and all the remains of the castle and the ground since 1993.
