REMAINS OF THE CHÂTEAU DE LUSIGNAN
Castle belonging to the lords of Lusignan, with vestiges, the melusine tower or the postern, turret in the surrounding wall
This castle was surrounded by a triple wall and belonged to the Lords of Lusignan. Built at the end of the 10th century before undergoing transformations in the 12th century, then in the 15th century, the castle was devastated in 1575 during the Wars of Religion and then razed in the 17th century. The intendant Blossac, in the XVIIIth century, transformed the castle site into a promenade. Beautiful vestiges remain visible, such as the Mélusine tower or the poterne, a turret included in the surrounding wall.
