BRIDGE PIERS (THE POND)
Dating from the 15th, they supported the bridge leading to the château of Madame de Montespan's father in Lussac.
During your walk in Lussac-les-Châteaux, we advise you to go for a walk or even a picnic by the pond. The water from the stream that feeds it was used to run the mills and the tanneries, as the horns stuck in the walls of the surrounding houses remind us. Another curiosity, large square piles are planted in the water. Dating from the 15th century, they supported the bridge that allowed to reach the castle, the one that, built around 1065, belonged to the father of Madame de Montespan, famous mistress of Louis XIV.
