PREHISTORIC CAVES
Prehistoric caves used as shelters, with thousands of sculpted objects to admire in the Fadets and Marche caves
A dozen prehistoric caves have been discovered around Lussac-les-Châteaux. They were used as shelters 14 000 years ago. In the caves of Les Fadets and La Marche (discovered in 1937), thousands of sculpted objects have been found. On private property, one can only see the interior during guided tours by the Museum of Prehistory. After a discovery of the collections and the stone engravings, you will go to the caves located at 10 minutes on foot. Ideal to imagine Homo sapiens in their natural habitat!
